This Limited Warranty is extended by Jupiter UV, LLC (“Jupiter UV”) to the owner of any UV-C air treatment system manufactured by Jupiter UV, LLC in Jupiter, Florida and shipped for installation in the United States. It sets forth the coverage provided, the duration of coverage, and the procedure for making a claim. To file a claim, write to info@jupiteruv.com and follow the claim procedure described below.

Coverage

• Power supply — lifetime. The electronic housing (ballast / driver) is covered for as long as the unit remains in service at its original installation address. If the power supply fails during that period, Jupiter UV, LLC will repair or replace it at no charge for the part, and will cover ground shipping within the shipping territory stated at the time the Return Material Authorization is issued. Removal of the unit from its original installation address and reinstallation at a different location terminates this coverage; see the Transferability section below.
• UV-C lamps — warranted to their design life, full replacement. Each Jupiter UV lamp is sold with a published design life, and is warranted for the duration of the design life published for that specific model, measured from the installation date recorded on the product registration. During the warranty period Jupiter UV, LLC will replace a defective lamp outright, with no proration or partial credit. Replacement lamps purchased from Jupiter UV carry a fresh warranty equal to the design life published for that model, measured from their own installation date. The design life for each lamp model is published on the lamp model’s product page.
• Mounting hardware — lifetime. Brackets, clamps and fasteners shipped in the kit are covered for as long as the unit remains in service at its original installation address, under the same terms as the power supply.

Transferability

This warranty extends to the original owner at the original installation address and to any subsequent owner of the same installation address, for the balance of the applicable warranty period, provided that the product remains installed at its original installation address. Removal of the product from its original installation address and reinstallation at a different location terminates this warranty. Temporary removal of the product for HVAC servicing at the same installation address does not terminate this warranty.

Exclusions

This warranty does not cover any of the following:

• Damage, malfunction, or failure resulting from installation that does not conform to the installation instructions published by Jupiter UV, LLC in effect at the time of installation, including without limitation improper input voltage, outdoor installation where not expressly permitted, or installation in locations prohibited by the installation manual. The party performing the installation is solely responsible for compliance with the installation instructions and all applicable federal, state, and local codes.
• Labor, removal, and reinstallation costs. This warranty covers the defective part only; it does not cover any labor, removal, or reinstallation performed by any party.
• Damage resulting from power events, including lightning, brownouts, or voltage surges beyond the range absorbed by a standard in-building surge protector.
• Normal lamp depreciation. UV-C lamps are designed to lose output over the course of their published design life. Depreciation that occurs within the normal operating range of a lamp’s design life is not a defect and is not covered by this warranty.
• Cosmetic wear, including scratches, discoloration, and label wear.
• Zip ties, zip-tie mounts, decals, labels, printed documentation, and any other consumable or cosmetic items shipped with the product. These items are provided for convenience of installation and are not covered by this warranty.
• Damage resulting from acts of God or other events outside Jupiter UV, LLC’s reasonable control, including flood, fire, pest or rodent damage, mold contamination, or chemical exposure in the airstream.
• Damage, malfunction, or failure resulting from alteration, modification, or repair of the product performed in a manner not in conformance with Jupiter UV, LLC’s documented procedures.

How to make a claim

To obtain warranty service, the owner must: (i) notify Jupiter UV, LLC in writing at info@jupiteruv.com within the applicable warranty period and within a reasonable time after the defect becomes apparent; (ii) provide the product serial number, the installation date, a description of the alleged defect, and photographs where the defect is visible; and (iii) obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number from Jupiter UV, LLC prior to returning any product or part. Products returned without a valid RMA number may be refused. Jupiter UV, LLC will ship warranty replacements within the shipping territory stated at the time the RMA is issued.

Registration

Warranty coverage runs from the installation date recorded on the product registration, not from the date of purchase or shipment. For any unit that has not been registered, Jupiter UV, LLC will apply the ship date associated with the product serial number as the coverage commencement date. Registration may be completed by scanning the QR code on the product packaging or by looking up a unit by serial number at jupiteruv.com/s/.

Owners are encouraged to register their unit at the time of installation. A registered unit allows Jupiter UV, LLC to verify warranty eligibility without additional documentation, to dispatch replacement parts more quickly in the event of a claim, and to notify owners of safety or service bulletins affecting their product.

Legal terms

Sole and exclusive remedy

Repair or replacement of the defective product or part under the terms of this warranty is the sole and exclusive remedy of the owner and the sole and exclusive obligation of Jupiter UV, LLC. IN NO EVENT SHALL JUPITER UV, LLC BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF USE, LOST PROFITS, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR CLAIMS OF THIRD PARTIES — ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SALE, INSTALLATION, USE, OR PERFORMANCE OF THE PRODUCT, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

Implied warranties

ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THE APPLICABLE EXPRESS WARRANTY PERIOD SET FORTH ABOVE. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

Your rights under state law

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Severability

If any provision of this warranty is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to render it enforceable, or if modification is not possible, severed from this warranty, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Governing law and venue

This warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The parties agree that any action or proceeding arising out of or relating to this warranty shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Palm Beach County, Florida, and each party hereby consents to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.
